2. An advanced degree in educational administration.

3. Significant classroom experience.

4. A person of deep faith and integrity.

5. Outstanding communication skills - good listener.

6. Experience in teaching and administration in a Jesuit high school is preferred.

Description:

Canisius High School, the Jesuit college preparatory High School of Western New York, wishes to hire an experienced, dynamic, academic leader as its next principal. The principal is the chief academic officer of the school. He/She reports directly to the president. The primary duties of the principal are:
1. Responsible for the daily operations of the school.
2. Evaluation of faculty and some non-academic staff.
3. Meet regularly with academic department chairs.
4. In conjunction with the Assistant Principal for Academics, continues to evaluate and develop an exemplary college preparatory curriculum.
5. Prepares and manages all academic and co-curricular budgets.
6. Works with the president to maintain and grow the Jesuit identity of the apostolate.
7. Supports the work of the president.
