I know that teachWNY.com is a great resource, but what happened to wnyschooljobs.org? The BOCES run job site has been down for about a week now. You can still get through to the online application and smattering of jobs if you click through a maze of links on the Erie 1 Boces website, but you cannot directly access wnyschooljobs through its domain name. This leads me to a few possible conclusions. Wnyschooljobs cowers in fear at the sheer awesomeness of teachWNY.com. Possible, but unlikely. Wnyschooljobs has ceased to exist because of its poor design and lack of utility. Wnyschooljobs is undergoing a redesign to make it more appealing and useful to its users. Individual school districts are abandoning wnyschooljobs in favor of setting up their own in-house job application service. I've seen this happening on many sites. I sure hope it's choice number 3. Maybe I've got it all wrong, none of my conclusions ring true. I was never a big fan of the design of wnyschooljobs, which is one of the reasons why I started teachWNY.com. I want to see all of the jobs without logging in. The interface felt clumsy and did not inspire confidence when I clicked [...]

I sure hope it's choice number 3. Maybe I've got it all wrong, none of my conclusions ring true. I was never a big fan of the design of wnyschooljobs, which is one of the reasons why I started teachWNY.com. I want to see all of the jobs without logging in. The interface felt clumsy and did not inspire confidence when I clicked to Apply for a job and left me with little confirmation save the words "You have applied for this job." Great. Could I possibly get a status update? Something, even an email telling me that I'm not worthy, would be a huge improvement over the morass that is wnyschooljobs.org.

Got any information? Is BOCES holding the site hostage or killing it off entirely? Let me know your opinion of my site and their site. Give me a Venn diagram or a T chart. I'm always looking for ways to improve teachWNY.com!
