QUALIFICATIONS: Among exemplary personal and professional qualities, the candidate should
␣ Hold or be eligible for NYS certification as a special education teacher 6-8; certification in an academic area desirable.
␣ Be a visionary leader that can facilitate and motivate the implementation of effective instructional and assessment strategies in special education.
␣ Possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to deal effectively with middle school students, staff and parents, and the community.
␣ Possess knowledge and skill in implementing effective teaching practices, a willingness to continue to seek professional growth opportunities and a desire to support Professional Learning Communities.
␣ Demonstrate unquestionable integrity and a firm belief in the worth and potential of all students. SALARY: As per negotiated contract with the Dansville Teachers’ Association STARTING DATE: ASAP RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Co-teach in an academic area. 2. Frontload key concepts and vocabulary in Resource Room 3. Differentiate assignments, projects and homework 4. Implement and coordinate student IEP 5. Communicate with parents on a regular basis
