I got a job! Finally, I lucked my way into a probationary position in an exciting district. I don't want to reveal too much about the job, but I can say that the future finally looks bright for my teaching career. After bouncing around for the last four years, I will be able to put down some roots and grow comfortable in a tenure track teaching job.
I found out last week as I was preparing to leave for vacation. It was a nice send off! Unfortunately, the new job brought me no luck in Vegas.
I consider myself a teachWNY success story. I used my own website to help me find a job. I'd like to hear from others if this site has helped anyone get a job or an interview. I've been steadily updating this site for a year. I can't imagine I'm the only one who has found a job through teachWNY!
Keep checking back every day for updates! Even though I'm gainfully employed, you can still look forward to daily updates from yours truly. Once the school year starts, I'll be updating either early in the morning (6 AM) or in the late afternoon (5 PM). I have yet to decide which route I will take, but if you're still looking for a job, keep looking here for fresh leads.
Good luck!
P.S. - Read this article - I wrote it last year around this time on the topic of desperation.

Congratulations!
You give me hope that it IS possible to get a job! I have applied to over 50 positions… and I am dreading the prospect of another year waiting by the phone for the daily “sub” call!
Thank you VERY much for all the hard work you do in maintaining this website. You definitely make the job search a lot easier!
Way to go! Now head to Holcomb’s and get yourself something nice for your classroom!
This website landed me my first interview this usmmer which led to my first job placement. It’s a long term sub position which is getting my foot in the door!
